Classify the update

Official announcements show major mode updates, new skulls, balance work, and targeted bug fixes. Sort each note into content, balance, behavior, save, interface, or cosmetic change.

Only the first five categories normally change a guide. Cosmetic changes matter when a screenshot no longer matches the object a player must identify.

A mode update can change both navigation and the strategy pages that depend on it.

Follow the dependency chain

A named skull change affects its record, builds that use it, mode guides where it is recommended, and any screenshot containing old text. A save fix affects troubleshooting and platform comparison pages.

Keep a simple list of affected routes so a small patch does not trigger an unfocused rewrite of the whole site.

  • Dependent build
  • Dependent mode
  • Image with old text
  • Troubleshooting page

Preserve the old version

Do not erase the previous wording if players may still be on an older build. Mark the version range and explain the current behavior first.

When the new behavior cannot be reproduced, leave the page conservative and link to the official note rather than inventing a result.
